I know a lot of people complain about these “filler chapters” but I like them. Love them actually. This whole story. These characters are so complex, every single one of them, and I’m glad the author allows us to see that, that they carve out their characters so we can understand the magnitude of it, instead of just completing the main storyline and letting the characters stay flat but juuuust interesting enough. Like I HATE Minchul, but I also truly pity and mourn the young man that he was to nearly a point of grief. And I love Haesoo, but it angers me a bit when she just allows everyone to walk all over her. And yet, they’re both such real “people” too. The hardship they’ve been through shows the worst in people, and you'll either turn bitter and selfish like Minchul to escape that, even at the desperate expense of others, or you’ll stay kind, sometimes to a detriment. And I hate Ari, but I feel bad for her naiveness. Minchul is probably the first serious “boyfriend” she’s had, AND he’s toxic. So I somewhat understand how she’s acting, even though I don’t condone it. Taeha is his own bag of worms, and Jay would require a lot more to say, so I’ll end it here LOL but I love this story so much, it’s nuanced and gritty and reflects real life situations and how real life people react to them, and I wish people would appreciate it more than some quick and cheap entertainment. Thank you if you read my Ted Talk
