We have a "let's have sex for practice" plot that's forgotten fairly quickly, an "antagonist" who is mainly just a work problem, and when he finally goes all out, he's arrested quickly and his family harassing one of the leads never goes anywhere, there's the homophobic past and tragic accident that's very much in the background, and then there's a toxic couple. That is....a lot. And none of it is executed well.
