ya’ll an actual king would, realistically, be having concubines all the time and it makes sense that he would keep the only thing around him that keeps his condition from worsening to fulfill his duties. yeah, it sucks, but it’s the only time he does it & he’s only lusting for the mc at that point in the story, he doesn’t even like her. it was very early and fresh so why would he not do that considering his position. trust, i hate it too but his position doesn’t just lose significance bc he’s starting something fresh with someone, and of low standing to boot
