He's out of prison and currently lives in a nearby park because Myeongil's grandma kicked him out of the house when Myeongil's siblings tried to hide him there. The younger brother visits Heonjae from time to time.
As for 'winning' the romance... Probably not in the latest chapters because Jingi and Myeongil are slowly revealing their feelings for each other and it's mostly them until the end of S2.
S3 could have more Heonjae/Myeongil after the latter is out of prison so I'd probably continue to let this marinate until then.
