Just like @hiiii and I predicted, the season ends with Myeongil's release. I'm glad we FINALLY get a sober kiss between the two, but it feels more like a 'final farewell' kiss from Jingi knowing that he's finally acknowledging his feelings for Myeongil while still resigning to die in prison. I hope the little weasel figurine next to the wolf gives Jingi the resolve to stay alive and know that's he's not alone!

I predict season 3 will be more plot heavy with the uncle vs Heonjae/noona on the outside and Jingi on the inside. Selfishly I hope it opens on Jingi's release so they can quickly reunite lol.

Anyways thanks to all those who read and enjoy my spoilers, I'll be back to post more in season 3!

Also forgot to mention the multiple prison doors towards the end reflecting the chapter with his childhood SA experience... (chills)

You bet! This is like the only manhwa I've invested so much mental energy into lol...while most people are turned off by the prison rape slopness on the surface I really enjoy digging into the deeper metaphors, subtext, and character development behind it all

I kept getting a feeling that we were gonna get an update even though it's supposed to be a hiatus week, I just didn't expect it to be the season finale!

I love that the kiss happened while they weren’t having sex, which is what many of us had been expecting. And the way it was so simple compared to how sloppy their intimate scenes have always been is actually so meaningful. Like, they’re usually such a mess but their first kiss ended up being just a quick peck. There was something so childish and innocent about it, almost like we get a glimpse Jingi would have been if he had been allowed to grow up normally. It ties in with how the season ends with this series of doors which basically paralles the scene where Jingi’s sexual abuse was revealed in Chapter 67. I think it’s a deliberate way of showing us Jingi’s true self, the part of him that was locked away in his uncle’s room and never actually got to leave.

Also, Igingogi is really the GOAT when it comes to hidden details and symbolism. I thought the doors were going to be a one time thing, but she brought them back for the season finale no less. Like yeah, Jingi is the only one still locked up behind those doors, both literally and metaphorically, cause out of the three main characters, he’s the only one who’s still stuck in the past. Myeongil tried bro, it's up to him now. Hopefully he doesn't die the moment he finally decides to step out of the door ╥﹏╥

Also myeon-il mentioning returning to school got me flashbacks to the university merch, and the short school AUs she releases sometimes. I wonder if that could possibly where the story ends? Please, I'd be happy as long as they're all alive.

Of course it wouldn't be update day if I wasnt hating on Heonjae lmao, but really, how am I supposed to care about Heonjae after this season finale? Like, I get now why Igingogi had to insert him between chapters because his current storyline is so irrelevant compared to what's going on between Jingi and Myeong-il. When season 3 opens with Heonjae and Myeongil playing house, I'm gonna close my eyes.

SAME, I'm so invested in Jingi's POV and plot that anything with Heonjae just feels like a side story being wedged in. It does seem like they're gonna end in a poly though (Myeongil keeps including Heonjae when talking about future plans) so when the time comes I'll accept that fate I guess

I'm running up the walls with this chapter, it even made me a bit emotional! Curse them! Curse them to bits!!! I had a feeling their 'first kiss' would be reserved for the season finale, but I wasn't ready for how sweet the moment would be!! Like many here I expected it to happen during a sex scene, and I'm really happy we were wrong!! These two mean so much to me uuuuu...

Heonjae feels so irrelevant to everything happening, including the romance, but I've felt like he's been third wheeling since the first season. Maybe I'm just biased, but reading that people here are thinking the same makes me put it into question further. Though if you guys are right, and this ends in a poly... well, I'll just say that it would suck to be Heonjae. Even Myeongil seems to show preferential treatment towards Jingi ^-^;;;;

I don't really care to see Heonjae bond with Myeongil outside of prison, in all honesty, I just don't feel like they have the same gravitational pull that Myeongil and Jingi have. I don't know how I ended up falling so head over hills for a BL with two MLs as a monishipper, when I typically avoid those. I wasn't expecting there to be such a deep story tackling trauma, addiction, and coping mechanisms beneath it all, but I'm enjoying it greatly, and I hope the third season manages to be just as entertaining (despite the suspiciously short wait for it?).

You guys may hope differently (?), but... I'm REALLY hoping the next season doesn't start on a timeskip...

I find so much comfort in knowing that there are people who share the sentiments I have towards Heonjae. It's natural to have a bias when there's multiple MLs, but I really tried reading this with an open mind since it's one of those stories that just screams POLY, but I couldn't like Heonjae for the life of me. Of course, Igingogi has all the reins in writing her own story, but I think she may have dropped the ball with how she has written Heonjae thus far. He's had a lot of potential having such a nice character design, and I remember how popular he got when Slammer Dogs was first released, but the more he appeared the less appealing his character became. He lost all that mysterious, yandere aura, and became such a manchild. If they weren't having sex, I'd think of Myeong-il as his babysitter, hence why I couldn't see them being romantic partners no matter how in your face their romantic scenes have always been.

It doesn't help how insecure he is towards Jingi to the point that he actually attempts killing him. Half the time he spent with Myeongil, he kept thinking of how he's getting a one up on Jingi. How's a poly supposed to work with a guy like that? You're absolutely right on the dot when you said he was getting the short end of the stick, not only because of Myeong and Jingi having much better connection but also because at the end of the day those two could make peace with being in a polyamouros relationship while Heonjae could never.

i think you nailed my main issue with him. "they are both crazy!" "they are both horrible!" yes, yes they are; but in opposite ways. They both endured some amount of abuse at home (i'll get to the aftermath in a second), and due to this jingi grew up too early. even while living with their mom he, likely younger than 10, has extremely calm and anxious resctşons to whatever is going on. he doesn't fuss, doesn't whine, seems to be fully aware of the situation and tries to support his mom.

heonjee on the other hand never had the change to mature or understand circumstances at a deeper level. so it feels like there will always be some level of disconnect Myeongil has to make up for at whatever relationship they have. Jingi is quite smart, and Myeong isn't as dumb as he looks so they feel more... equal? normal? Heonjee always needs some guarding from real life topics with how deranged he is, so he can't really have a fully adult relationship (sexual, romantic, platonic, formal etc.)

and like even narrative wise jingi is just a lot more interesting. to isolate the unaware character and put the hyperaware one through actual living hell is diabolical, props to the author. his story and behavior is a lot more well thought than i assumed it would be in the first chapters, every time he makes a decision or acts a certain way you can just see the reason behind it. it feels like you can kind of understand the way this guy operates and why he does the things he does. sometimes you even feel like you can see what kind of person he would be without the massive amount of trauma both characters are really consistently written but jingi invests you in his story a lot more while i would prefer heonjee more as a plot device than character
