if they fabricated something the police wouldn't hand out any info and would detain Yeomin instead of handing him over, also they would have to go through the standard protocol which would reveal 1) it was a fabricated bullshit 2) Taeseo and his men are the real criminals (everyone is a criminal who instead of notifying authorities about the confined against his will man, just did their payroll duties like usual).
Even if they created the program it doesn't mean the school is their bitch now willing to hand over such private info.
Of course I wouldn't have any issues with this if this was set in a dark, super corrupted version of our world. But this is supposedly set in our world, and in our world even very rich people can't have and torture captives with 0 repercussions... like of course many crimes go unpunished for all kinds of people, but this story portrays is as something extremely common, nothing out of the ordinary. He has a dozen of workers, guards, maids, cleaners, but he's somehow sure nothing will get out. Or even if it gets out, he won't be held liable. It's simply not realistic.
Verdict: bad writing. don't defend it. what even for?

"we are working with the authorities" "we have contacted his school" on which mf grounds exactly?? "hi police (school) so like we've been holding hostage a person and he escaped, help us find him so we could confine him again lol"
