idk but it's kinda universal things happening in any romance fiction, regardless of genre (straight, BL, GL). dark romance is rlly a thing rn, most of it rooted from reader's preference on any free self-published media platform (socmed, ao3, etc). Then producer & publisher looked at this as opportunity to encourage author to make or adapt stories with similar trope that's popular, to gain many readership revenue possible. One story succeeded, followed by another, then more similar story is made. Like it or not, a lot of ppl happened to love rapeslop it's kinda what sells best amongst paid readership, bcs it's them who actually matter for author & platform's profit, to the extent even shoving unfitting rape in order to cater paying reader's preference
