I’ve been confused about the timeline this whole time.
Like in the beginning when Mujin was introduced it says he’s 33, but when Wuyeon asks, he said he was 30. So then, now it’s 3 years later, so 33 would be correct, but….
That first chapter had him meeting the old man and getting the request for Wuyeon’s semen, so….either there was a snafu with the timeline the author originally planned, or it’s gonna be some sort of time paradox, where they’re gonna somehow end up back in time and all this did not just happen?
if thats the case and 17 is where the year passes, now my problem is that these moods and where their relationship is dont line up at all. What was wuyeon so pissed about, the place isnt trashed, we dont see any of the scenes play again from those first 3 chapters. The only things that line up is wuyeon in the robe with short hair and them having sex
I don't mean 17 is a direct continuation of early chapters' scenes, I mean time wise, 17 is around the time the story catches up to present time. That's around the time the flash back that started after the first few chapters ends after showing how their situation started and how their relationship come to be what we saw at start and around 17 and after that we see how it changes and improves in plot's present time.
These kinda plot inconsistencies aren't entirely unheard of in visual stories. Authors/artists usually prepare a few episodes before launch and then work out the rest during serialization, they have the main plot structure down but sometimes some details change along the way. But it also might be the author's style to start off with a strong scene to catch the attention of the audience, give the back story and then just proceed to a different scene but in the same timeline of the starting scene and pick up the story from there.
maybe i haven't experienced this cos im not familiar with any such practices in manga or manhwa over the years of consuming them, but it just makes it read like nothing but poor planning, which i don't think makes sense in this day and age of how a lot of manhwa and manhwa adaptations are made cos its far more common where a team and editor will have to go through the work in order for it to be published/released. This is hardly opening with a red herring scene and subverting, this was like reading a first vs final draft in terms of direction
This author and artist pair have exactly two works (worked on both together) and the first is from 6 years ago with this story being their 2nd. It's possible that they did revisions and try things out during their serialization with assumption that they're not seasoned creators and are still finding their foothold.
my entire original comment is about the lack of closure they created by not being able to resolve what they opened with. whether this team is contemplating different styles and methods as a vehicle for the story should not change the fact that they would still need to close that introduction so that it could seamlessly transition into the direction of the plot they landed on. I see this as a failure on the editors as well, as these chapters would've had to be cleared by someone else in order for it to be approved and uploaded(as that is most standard practice in the korean manhwa industry), and so unless there is some twist coming in the future, i don't see how there is a way to explain away what looks like nothing but poor planning

what was the point in the first 3 chapters?? where wuyeon has cut hair but he's back in the apartment??? and he kind of has the vibe of someone that feels like hes been betrayed?? i dont recall any chapter before now officially covering any closure for that
