I read spoilers and this story is just rage bait mania. FL finds out the empire is behind the fog and deaths and even behind her parents murder. They wanted the fuels under her territory so they offed the parents and then pinned the fog on her. ML knew and was helping the empire pin it all on her until he falls in love blah blah blah. Damage is done. He regrets going against her so he joins her side. She finds out the truth. They fight. He gets hurt in an explosion. She forgives him. She gets revenge by bringing back her family’s reputation, she makes money through the ships. They get married and have kids. The trash ex gets hung after his crimes are discovered and Heidi gets exiled to a monastery? Lowkey messed up but their children get sent to an orphanage and ML tells the headmistress to treat them just like the rest of the orphans - no special privilege. FL is willing to take them in but ML says no… Emperor goes to jail (btw there is a backstory where trash ex sells out his family name and his little brother to empire all so he can be with his lover).
