I think you really don't know what grooming actually means.
It means an older person raise someone specifically to be their sexual partner in future. In real world you don't have any context so you should always assume the worst to keep the kids safe,
Here the bottom didn't had one single thought of top being anything but family when he decided to be his guardian. We have the context we literally see how he struggled to change his perception to see him from family to a lover. He didn't any grooming to be ignored here.
ignore my other comment i kinda didn’t get my point across but what im saying is that if this exact same situation happened in real life, it would still be grooming, because the older person has a responsibility to recognize the power imbalance and establish boundaries, and they even address this power imbalance in the manhwa, when you’ve spent someone’s formative years raising them, caring for them, and becoming their primary source of security, you have a responsibility not to let that dynamic turn into a romantic relationship without acknowledging the influence you’ve had over them. the younger person developing feelings doesn’t erase that responsibility and grooming isn’t exclusively about deliberately raising a child to become your future sexual partner. It can also involve establishing emotional dependency, trust, and power imbalances that make someone vulnerable. I’m not necessarily arguing that the character intentionally groomed him within the narrative, because obviously this is fiction and the story is written to frame their relationship a certain way. I’m saying that if this exact dynamic happened in real life, it would absolutely warrant being recognized and examined as grooming, regardless of whether the older person originally intended for it to become romantic.
It honestly isn't. Grooming has pretty much has a straight forward meaning. It means an older person manipulate a minor for a specific purpose. Here in this context we're going to assume sexual relationship. He doesn't have any obligation to an adult. To stop him or say what should do or think about his own feelings. Also that power dynamic thing again doesn't have grooming grounds. It only count as one when he force a relationship with him like he owes him sex or romantic feelings over providing him. Obviously he doesn't.
I don't think he did anything wrong one bit here. I hate how the older guardian father mother etc allow people to just dismiss the fault on a fully grown adult because the SAID DYNAMICS.
He stubbornly forced his feelings threatening him about leaving despite everything is insecure and still put everything else on his shoulder to fix. Now bottom has to stick with a groomer allegations because curse when he do like him and cursed when he won't
I think you’re conflating two different arguments here, I’m not saying the older character deliberately raised him to become his future sexual partner, nor am I saying that the younger character has no agency because he’s an adult, I’m saying that the circumstances in which those feelings developed matter, and the older character’s history as his caregiver creates a dynamic that doesn’t simply disappear once the younger person reaches adulthood the younger person developing feelings for someone who’s spent his formative years caring for him is entirely understandable and even more if you put him in the context when he has no one, that doesn’t make him incapable of making his own decisions, nor does it automatically make the older character a groomer but the older character’s responsibility to recognize the emotional dependency and influence inherent in their relationship doesn’t disappear either and grooming doesn’t require someone to explicitly demand sex in exchange for care or force someone into a relationship, a power imbalance alone doesn’t establish grooming, but neither does the absence of it, as for him threatening to leave, that is a separate issue, the younger character can have agency and behave unfairly toward the older character without that automatically erasing the ethical implications of their history, my point is that the older character’s original intentions don’t automatically determine whether his subsequent behavior is exploitative. If he reciprocates those feelings because he doesn’t want to lose someone who’s emotionally dependent on him, that’s something worth examining rather than automatically dismissing, I’m arguing that the specific history between these characters makes the power dynamic worth examining, and that being an adult doesn’t magically erase the influence of the relationship in which those feelings developed. I can enjoy their relationship as fiction while still recognizing that IN REAL LIFE equivalent would raise serious ethical questions, because what i said in the main comment is that, THIS HISTORY APPLY REAL LIFE would be consider gromming, u should look up the definition of gromming because it’s really not always sexual!!!

they really good at victim blaming damn, in a second thought i like how this portrays how difficult can be liking someone that spent all your life taking care of you that isn’t a relative, in a real world it would be grooming, and probably here too but we ignore it, i like it i love the angst i want season three to come out sooner
