Yo I’m feeling so fucking happy right now. Finally got firm confirmation that the real Hikaru did not like Yoshiki and he liked a girl. It sucks for Yoshiki but omg I was getting my ass flamed online just because I said real Hikaru did not like like Yoshiki xd

It annoyed me so much, if people read the author's notes they would know the author had already stated hikaru did not like yoshiki and was indeed straight

If you re-read the old chapters, you'll see plenty of acts of love from the real Hikaru, but obviously, things couldn't progress any further—even Yoshiki was stuck at that point, with his hidden feelings. I mean, it's normal for an author to change direction or how characters are portrayed, especially when it comes to the original Hikaru, who is essentially a memory; we rarely saw his POV, so he was mostly just the version of him that existed in Yoshiki's mind. (By the way, I'm not trying to argue or be disrespectful—I just enjoy discussing different points of view.)

It was clear from the beginning Hikaru cared deeply for Yoshiki as a friend but NOT romantically. In fact he died because he got distracted by a tree that looked like a woman's curves. He was shown as straight right from the very beginning. You can care deeply for a friend with no romantic feelings involved.
