I'm a huge fan of manga in general though I prefer those that don't insult the reader's intelligence too much. I prefer realistic stories but I also prefer happy endings (yes, I want to have my cake and eat it too). I tend to lean more towards yaoi, shounen ai and josei though I do enjoy the occasional shoujo and seinen. I'm forever on the hunt for yaoi featuring MCs who both look and behave like men. I'm especially partial to those with seke couples. What frustrates me most is going to the comment section of a shounen-ai manga and seeing someone ask "Which of them is the seme?" It makes me feel like to that reader, the entire relationship is defined by the participants' positions during sex. Also, it amounts to force - fitting gender stereotypes on to homosexual relationships. If we are going to do that, why bother having yaoi as a separate genre when we could just stick to shoujo?
That's me - addicted to manga and extremely opinionated.
all people are flawed and showing a genuine relationship between two people with their own unique flaws who love each other is awesome!
