Rereading this after reading Alpha Trauma just to immerse myself into the universe of this manhwa and to look at Dohyun again, this man is just so hot and has so much rizz he feels like a main character despite being the second ML here and I'm glad he got his own story. I like the continuity and how Alpha Trauma was perfectly set up in here.
When I read Omega Complex the first time, I was picky about the sex scenes and overall expressions, art style, and how they felt kinda meh to me. I gotta say, I was harsh and up my ass, cause reading it now, it is pretty hot stuff and I like how the omegaverse with all the pheromones and wetness was nicely incorporated - we even experienced a proper rut and a heat. But man, that ML... No idea how bro expected the MC to confess to him without any fear of losing the relationship (he was angry that the MC didn't realize he's special considering they've know each other for a long time, but HOW can he feel this way if his best friend with omega trauma literally told him he'd hate it and would end it if he was an omega). He did acknowledge he's an idiot, at least, but then the fact he distanced himself again after he slept with the MC during his heat was another immature, annoying thing to do. So he's supposedly been in love with the MC all this time as well, shouldn't he cling onto the opportunity to get with him as the MC told him he likes him AND has been suffering all this time for his sake, covering up his pheromones, going against his omega nature, just as to not lose the ML? THAT alone attests to how much the MC loves the ML beyond pheromones and purely pheromone based attraction. How the ML missed that part, clearly seeing how the MC suffered through that, is beyond me. He didn't acknowledge the effort at all, up until the end. He was all angry about the fact the MC distanced himself first, sure, but he could've then understood why as he revealed his secondary gender...
Anyways, I still like how their relationship progressed, cute moments, hot moments (although all very surface level, nothing particularly deep or touching AND OF COURSE NO MPREG), and then BOOM, another stupid ass misunderstanding while they've been in a relationship for five fucking years, and have known each other all their life - do they not know how to communicate?! Do they not understand their patterns, quirks, communication styles, needs?? MC has to vent to his friends about the distance he feels from the ML instead of, dunno, taking the time to talk it through with him? Yeah, the ML is busy, work and capitalism and all that bullshit, but still, you're an English lit major, COMMUNICATE! ML must be so insecurely attached to start crying, thinking his partner of 5 years wants to break up with him... Bro, do you know this person? Are y'all strangers?
Yeah, I'm definitely more excited about the couple in Alpha Trauma, I feel like they have more potential. It's going to be messy, I know that, but they have more chemistry and maybe even potential to communicate better despite knowing there's some major deception here as well (this author apparently likes deception type angst). Dohyun at least is more perceptive and fine tuned to people's feelings, I think. Definitely a more interesting character than both Taegyom and Yoonwoo lol.
