Not to yuck anyone’s yum, but I personally don’t like it. I’m sure someone loves this story enough for the both of us.

The author chose to sit down and write chap 16 - 17 and was like “Yeah, this is good and totally not unnecessary. I want to show these humanoid sex puppets brutally assaulted and torn open from sexual abuse. And it is deeply integral to the plot and storyline, so much so it needs to be shown to the audience.” —and the artist sat down and drew a whole panel for it.

Yeah, take away context and it’s just drawings of women being abused for the fuck of it. No amount of plot logic or excuses could be added to this scene to fix the implication that the author doesn’t have good intentions. It was a choice to show the puppets like that. Literally could have just blurred it completely or implied it if it was that important to the plot man.

The story is interesting and has potential but think about the choice of the author for showing these dark elements in such a flippant manner. Showing these brutalized bodies resembling human beings just to make a show of how reliable or smart the main character is, just to give him a “wow so competent” moment is so unearned and lazy.

I would say it’s fine if you like the story. Except, if the story, and in turn the author, values showcasing unnecessary acts of violence and abuse towards women it makes me question whether the story can even be considered a “good story” simply because the writing aside from this scene is decent.
