Short answer, yes.

if the rape/coercion only makes up a relatively manageable portion of the whole series but still has an actual good plot (this relates to me, I'm not saying that rape is acceptable) then no, I won't drop it. But if the whole plot is centered around rape then yeah I would.

If I can't stomach it, I'll stop. There are works I still read even if there are scenes like that and also works I dropped because of scenes like that.

I used to not care that much as long as the art was pretty and the story was good. But the older I get, the more it bothers me. There’s just so much rape and coercion in these stories, and the way it gets romanticised really puts me off. Some of it sends a pretty worrying message, honestly =/
Sometimes it feels like authors don’t know how to create tension or drama without it anymore. Unless it actually fits the story and is handled well, I’ll drop it now, no matter how beautiful the art is.
Maybe I’m more sensitive to it than I used to be ╮(￣▽￣)╭
These days I mostly want something that makes me feel good, or a more complex story that gives me something to think about without constantly trying to shock me.
