Exactly, I guess people just see the characters as tropes and can't comprehend character development or the character's psychology affecting their behavior, so any deviation to the trope of the dominant sadistic top Mok was presented as in chapter 1 is considered ooc. I believe this is the real him hidden behind years of putting up masks and barriers to protect his traumatized hidden child. The author is even spelling out her intention in the nightmare but I guess some people are just obtuse and would complain anyway if he was acting normally after trying to kill himself.

Mokyeon was not some alpha dominant top daddy, he was always needy and pathetic. He was hiding it better. Also a reminder this dude was depressed, made attempt at his life and collapsed, of course he is acting a little different. He is at his most vulnerable state rn Nanjo is the only one mentally stable.
(But it was my first time seeing a top wake up and realise daym it's still in, usually it's the bottom, a nice change lmao. )
