because most readers do not mind a rapist ML. I'm not even trying to be facetious, as long as the rapist is ML and the guy she ends up with and he supposedly loves her (and he is rich and handsome), readers just can't get enough of this garbage plot. If he were second lead, the comment section would be full of negative comments but because he is "the one" then hey who care, they're going to end up together anyway so what's a little rape along the way
