So I just finished reading it and I find it disappointing.
I was highly disappointed in Doha, he's the only first prince I know who has low self esteem and a coward, if he wanted to be friends with Jeokyeon, he should've approached instead of letting hundreds of years pass by. That way, it would've justified the ending of him being the "consort" (which isn't officially announced btw). Also, the part where he spend one month in the prison of suffering and then ignoring Jaekyeon and then running away? what a fucking pussy. Honestly, his thoughts of wanting Jaekyeon but then not doing anything about it is such a small dick move. Please, where's the actions? all the other things he did in the middle of the story is not enough, its incomparable to Biseol.
I'm also disappointed that the author wasted the opportunity to build on Biseol and Jaekyeon's relationship especially after letting Biseon feast on her blood, that should've been the precursor to smut and emotional development between the two. Biseol and Jaekyeon have so much scenes for potential hot smut scenes but the author wasted it (Biseol mouth to mouth Jaekyeon's medicine, him massaging her ughhh) Another thing I'm disappointed is during Wol-ah's imminent death, Jaekyeon didn't say anything... Srsly im so fucking annoyed.
The second half was honestly wasted on some redundant scenes (I'm talking about Doha and Jaekyeon's POV during childhood years and both having a paralleling thoughts about each other). The only thingI like is how Jaekyeon literally flipped the table and fixed the kingdom's policies, but the development with the other characters after the trials, and many more we're wasted. Like there's no severe punishment for the 2nd prince after all that shit he pulled, no severe punishment for Hamil quick death really??? and there's other vague scenes which I didn't bother understanding because at that point im just so fucking annoyed.
Also, its fucking tragic that it's not a throuple (I am a perv, gooner who's obsessed with smut (╯°Д °)╯╧╧ it should've been a throuple!!! i hate how Biseon and Doha was hiding behind titles just to keep the relationship with Jeokyeon, like I fuck that shit. Its still a well written story unlike the other's I've read, there's just so many wasted scenes that could've developed the characters relationship dynamics deeper. Another thing is that there's no smut scene with Biseon like are you fucking kidding me????
