backstories for both of them got me good, they were both just kids who couldn't help their situations which resulted in this fuckfest.

anyways, the scenes of him getting abused to the point of near death while holding onto the words of the only person who ever has looked your way in a non-dismissive or aggressive manner is so sad. and then getting rescued only to be told it's because you got blood ties to a yakuza group (meaning that he would've been left for dead waiting for sakuma to save him if he wasn't an heir) and that you can't even live a normal life because you're gonna be taking over is brutal.
sakuma feeling guilty about this is pretty sad too considering he was literally a middle schooler and had no fucking clue what was really going on in hayame's life but he feels guilt because he himself was hurt by other people's promises and he made a pretty bold promise that hayame took to heart and soul bc sakuma was his one and only while sakuma still had other connections and his family.
i do wish that we got to see him express more anger/hatred towards hayame in the extras, like when he was calling him a bastard in disbelief that someone he held dear and dear memories with would do this to him and even hoping he was someone impersonating hayame. when all he did was gave him whatever love and attention a middle schooler could've given to him and that he had been wishing hayame well all this time whenever he did remember him.
i love characters like hayame so much, i wish i could pick at his brain forever + it makes sense how his worldview is so fucked up that he's practically unapologetic about his actions and how he feels he has so little left to lose just to see sakuma again, because that's all he has left to live for.
