LMAO, thanks to @coppercot for reminding me of a few specific details I missed while writing down a review.
SPOILERS AHEAD I share the same sentiment regarding the Doctor's character. The author leaves us without a clear explanation for his deep animosity toward Guides or his decision to run experiments on humans and oni/gons. We didn't learn what drives him or why he wants to control these silly creatures. I understand that he wants to create a more powerful version the creatures by using ML, but what exactly is he trying to achieve in the end? (someone enlighten me lol)
I'm also questioning the purpose of the MC's "sleepsona." Since he hasn't appear for a while, it completely slipped my mind. At first, I expected the plot to explore this alternate side of MC and prove he's far from an ordinary guide.
Given the direction of the plot, I honestly thought Doctor Daniel and MC shared a past together. My theory was that MC had amnesia, and the MC that the doctor actually knew back then was his sleepsona.
Unfortunately, the story did not provide more information about this alternate persona. Maybe, I'm just over analyzing and it was just MC's sleepwalking condition after all.
This story is very direct and straight to the point anyways lol. Despite these questionable parts of the story, my review still stands, its a great guideverse series!
