This site has a very handy dandy little button to mark spoilers, so obviously the sites own design is to prevent spoilers in comment sections. Yet y'all can never seem to remember to press one tiny little button.

Not to mention it's always been considered rude to leave blatant spoilers on something that hasn't finished yet.
Be kind, don't spoil. If you want spoilers for yourself there are many other ways to get them than begging in comments.

We aren't talking about people who ask for something to be explained. We're talking about people who say "tell me everything that happens" when the spoilers come literally from the book... That they could go read for themselves if they want to know the ending that badly.
It's lazy to ask for the entire story to be handed to you.
The authors want people to READ their work, not have someone make a quick summary of it.
It's not rude to say "the information you seek is here at xyz". Not everything is going to be handed to you.
There is a difference between "I wonder what happens' and "can someone tell me everything so I don't have to read it".
The latter is absolutely laziness and lack of true interest.
