Can't really do that; SK doesn't give rights to same-sex couples, IIRC, and doing it in another country means background checks, and IDK if they'd be able to hide it.
And honestly I can't imagine them taking a kid in; they talked about kids, but they're also murderers and people who act on vengeance over justice. Probably wouldn't be a good environment.
the last few panels featuring The Kid, is the child of Ms. Jeon, the woman who was the villain in the main story. She ended up in jail and was pregnant at the time with her husband's child (who was assassinated by Jeoh and Seongrok). And it's not two different babies I believe. It's the same kid but with a time skip/flashback. The first panel featuring the toddler lines up with when Jeoh and Seongrok are going through miscarriage trauma. The later illustration of the infant in prison is probably the flashback, meaning he was born in 2006 or likely before that, which is to say before Jeoh's heat. Can't really say when exactly because everything is happening while its still winter. Why I think it is the same baby is because both the kids are looking in the same direction (symbolic of it being the same person), the toddler is being reminded of jail bars cause the slide's metal railing starkly resembles them, something he's "seen before". Also the toddler characteristically has a patch of white hair on front view, a view which we never saw the baby in!
Also in case anyone's interested, the white hair condition is known as piebaldism. It is quite rare, and genetically passed down.
Evy-nim very cleverly tried to obscure the details here to create an illusion of mystery cause they maybe plan to continue this. Or even if they don't plan to continue this, it works as a tragic contrast where two people in love are unable to have children of their own while there is a child somewhere far away from them who was brought into the world as an unwanted child. I hope these two worlds collide to make somewhat of a happier life than this cause it can't get any sadder than it already is. When you hit rock bottom the only way left to go is up. I'm still (vaguely) hoping for more of this au.
