kinda crazy to me how different people treat different manhwa characters, ian does something like this (fully consensual btw eunsan was aware of it and didnt stop ian) and gets immediately dragged and hated to the core for it while some other characters (like zhenya or caesar) do so much worse nonconsensually and they get called hot and sexy anyway. some people just look for reasons to hate on characters for no reason whatsoever and spread hate :/

I totally agree!! I think it might be because of different audiences and expectation gaps? If that makes sense?

zhenya, ceaser, chase from kiss me if you can, lorenzo from bad apple: they're in a genre that has a lot more drama/action and you come in with the expectation that these characters are gonna be mean and selfish (most of the time, theyre already portrayed as unhinged and problematic so if you continue following as a reader, you aren't as shocked because you expected it/ started reading be/c of it) plus, the situations theyre put in and enviornments feel more fiction in a way?

I think for ian, its the difference of the scenario and expectation? There's definitely tension between the two and in the begining of the series, ian is set up to be very stubborn, cocky, and doing what he wants- but knows when to back off and compromise when it really matters (plus, even before their relationship got physical, there was always a focus on pampering and acts of service which I thought was sweet- like making sure he's okay, rests well, is washed up, feeding him, taking him home when he's drunk, and having enough self control to hold back until he's alone) He was mean, teasing and jealous but he was careful and cherishing- Even the foreplay keeps this dynamic with a ton of worship and eunsun having him basically on a leash but it feels like a switch is flipped the second he starts topping? It feels like now that he has eunsan, he can take whatever he wants without restraint if that makes sense? So much focus on how ian feels and what he wants and likes without really checking up on how eunsan is doing? Self control gone, carefulness is gone, prize is won kind of feeling until the sex is over and he switches back to his usual self (though at least eunsan is portrayed to enjoy it) Though I get he's been waiting and yearning for years but it feels a bit jarring when the jealous and unsatiable-top cliche conflicts with his character of being so eager to please and putting eunsan first- especially with how I had an expectation that eunsan would have a bit more control since he's usually the one to initiate it (end of ch. 24, 34, 36, etc)

(AH!! I'M STILL ENJOYING THE SERIES- IT'S JUST SOMETHING I FELT WHILE READING!! COMPLETELY JUST MY OPINION IM SO SORRY FOR SUCH A LONG, RANDOM RANT ACK)
