Mc thinking to himself "but i told him to stop" after straight up having his boundaries stepped on by this pos, reminds of irl abusive relationships. When someone straight up cries and tells you no, yet you continue it's rape. And when you on top of it completely ignore their words and claim to know better than them what they want, it's straight up disgusting.
To top it off, after the horrifying workplace bullying, he straight up raped him while he was completely intoxicated. And an intoxicated person CANNOT consent. If he had actually consented, which is only possible when he is NOT drunk, he wouldn't be so horrified in the morning. The half assed apology he received over the fact than ml did his life at work hell (and i know from personal experience how painful it is to be treated like shit at work) didn't cut it for me.
I tried to like it and i thought it would be easy because i remember reading this as a teenager and enjoying it, but i ended up horrified and pissed off. The way this story tries to pass up this abusive relationship as fluffy romance is annoying me. At least sell it as dark, because that's what it is. Don't sell it as something that is supposedly healthy and should be sought out.
