The novel version

You know I’ve read this twice or thrice and then discovered there’s a novel for it and usually I prefer novels because they’re more detailed but then I thought why would I read the novel when I’ve read the webtoon multiple times but the thought was always in the back of my mind SO I’ve finally started reading the novel and let me tell you Carlyle’s character is such an asshole I was genuinely shocked - so in the webtoon he was kinda of idiot when he tells her not to fall for him but then starts falling himself BUT in the Novel he’s disrespectful to Asha like how he commented on her appearance yk the hair style of barbarians - when the maids washed her he was like even with the makeover you’ll never fit to stand beside me appearance wise - how he called her BARBARIAN PRINCESS even though it’s derogatory - he called the people of pervaz as FILTHY PEASANTS in front of Asha when they were writing the contract- he also told his teacher that if she clings to him he can always get rid of her and make it look like an accident- Asha calls him an ARROGANT DEMON and she calls his teacher A JERK OF ZYRO — so I believe I’ll enjoy the novel more when he starts catching feelings and she’s indifferent to him cause he’ll remember all the insults he spouted- he actually intentionally throws insults at her because it’s FUN trying to shake her he’s actually more twisted in the novel so yeah

The scene where she and Decker saved him and he paid for their lodging Asha shook his hand- after he left and met up with Lionel he took off the gloves and asked to get rid of it so Lionel burns it ( because she’s dirty) - he also calls her the Beggar Lord so yeah it’s clear how condescending he is but poor Asha swallows it all cause she needs the money for The revival of Pervaz
