This series is so weird. The author makes the main plot all about this rape case that ruined a girls life. The media, the pressure, the act itself. The horrible scum who did it and got away. And then, ML is over here pulling all 10 stops trying to rape the MC. Does the author not see the irony? And granted I love that ML hasn't succeeded this far because MC legit fights back. But that doesn't mean what ML is doing is not rape. He drugged MC, he coerced MC. He stuck his fingers in after repeated nos. He forced a dilemma, you hole or your mouth. Blackmail, all the blackmail. And normally I'm like whatever, these types of plots are everywhere.

But I'm just feeling icky that the author has this plot with this girl and how much it ruined this girls life, how this is ruining MC who tried to get justice for this girl. All these serious topics and serious points followed by the fact that ML is actively trying to rape MC all of the time. The authors has a few really good lines in this book against rape and for consent, but it's buried by the MLs actions that showthe exact opposite.

If you have to blackmail to get a yes. It is not consent.
If you have to ask again and again and again until you get a yes, it is not consent.
If you go all bases except penetration with an unwilling partner, it is still rape.
If you drug someone, they can not consent.
If someone is unconscious, they can not consent.
If someone is inebriated, they can not consent (this includes "heat" honestly).

It just feels so opposite. The message this story is trying to give followed by the actions between the two main characters. If this had a legit green flag relationship, I think it would be a 12/10 BL story for the ages. A book about what a healthy relationship look like, a book showing the horrors of rape and the fear of coming out and pleasing your case. A tale of what happens to survivors and assholes who get away with it. But nope...

Sorry just had to rant a bit.

Didn't read it all but you're absolutely right

I read it all and I agree 100%. I honestly avoid these tropes nearly every single time I find them in BLs but this one I can't because it upsets me so badly. It has the perfect amount of potential to be such a good manhwa and probably one of my top 10s if the ML wasn't the stereotypical rapey top. I can't seem to dropit but every time one of "those" panels come up I remember why I had dropped it the first time. It's so depressing too because I really enjoy the plot, drama/action-y(?) BLs, and manhwas that tackle serious topics like rape.
Its so much more upsetting that the MC is such a relatable character as well. T-T
