Besides the fact that I don't feel that this is grooming, since both MC were forced into a child marriage but still tried to make it work, even when they were still children and most likely they were codependent opposite to lovers. Secondly, 8 years is not a big age gap. My late grandma married my grandpa, and they had a whooping 14 years gap...my grandma was the oldest and cradle snatcher lol. They were very much in love until his early death, and their marriage was a healthy one. So it doesn't really matter how big the age gap is as long both are adults and mature enough to understand eachother
