Heejae avoided actually speaking about his problems and just pushed it down with violent sex as well. And because garam has only ever really been sexually involved with heejae, he has adopted that mindset as well

I couldn’t agree more, Heejae has influenced Garam in so many ways. Not just through sex, but through their performances as well. With Heejae always reiterating and enforcing that message of ‘letting the music speak for itself’ into Garam, and in a way, made that become another mechanism to suppress the list of problems in their relationship and avoid clear communication.
The power dynamics in their relationships are insane, from their difference in age, class, and obviously personality. And this state that we’re now seeing Garam in, is the ultimate result of just that.

I remember seeing someone make the observation that Garam uses sex as a coping mechanism as a way to avoid communication, and this chapter totally reinforced that! I’m glad that they ended up not sleeping together, Garam is in a vulnerable state, and needs nonjudgmental support, their tender hug felt symbolistic of that in a way.
