It's a pretty good story with a lots of thrilling elements, I'm actually surprised that it's a omegaverse story, I dont particularly enjoy omegaverse story as the entire plot basically starts to revolve around omegaverse setting and all that (Plus all the other things which I have pointed it out in my review, Kiss me if you can) and this story does slightly lean toward it, however the story doesnt let that part of element take over the thriller part, police investigation and actions
Before that, let me tell you this is a slightly dark story with some romance elements and the story doesnt make attempt to excuse the actions of characters, but there is one thing that does bug me.
I want to focus on Wonjun character as the story clearly makes him as a immoral guy and doesnt pretend to portray him as a saint or anything and I appreciate it. He's a twisted, selfish sadist who goes to any lengths to get whatever he wants (emphasis, HE) even at the expense of others. The story gives him a plot of getting kidnapped and him suffering from insomnia because of it and the story also shows him after getting rescued, something in him broke, perhaps due to the trauma, he developed psychological disorder, but his parents may have went over it as he can no longer sleep properly and they focused on his insomnia problem and him sleeping around to find a way to get rid of his insomnia, atleast in this plot seems consistent (usually sexual relations or even self pleasure helps momentarily to relax as our brains get flooded with reward and happy hormones (sry, forgot the technical terms for it) and sex is a strenuous activity and so people would get relaxed and drowsy but this bastard has insane stamina huh? lucky guy is blessed with looks, money and endowed, must be real nice to be full package huh?)
The thing that bugs me is that even though the story makes it clear that Wonjun is a bad person, it somehow tries to whitewash him via the eyes of Ieum by acting cutesy and being cool and all, Perhaps it's just me, I just felt uncomfortable whenever Wonjun appears and I think it's brilliant that the story uses his charms and charisma to build him as a master manipulator who is intimidating but also alluring.
However brilliant the story and the character design is, I cant stomach reading it and felt super uncomfortable reading this story mainly because of Wonjun. He strong-armed Ieum into letting him into his house by using his background and even drugged him (and probably installed some sort of spy camera, as Wonjun said "Wish I could see it in another angle") and tried to rape him! and went again with Ieum once he completely out of his mind and had relations with Ieum who is now not in a sound mind (a.k.a Raped him) and the Ieum is all like fine??? It's just became uncomfortable to read and I tried to skim past panels whenever Wonjun was in the scene (It became a rant about how I'm uncomfortable with Wonjun huh? I just wanted it outta my system lol)
Another thing I dont appreciate the manhwa's depiction of Wonjun forcing himself on Ieum, like it's supposed to be scary and chilling, but it kind of makes it sensual(?). To me, it felt like the focus is given to how hot Wonjun is trying to conquer Ieun instead of focusing on the fact that this Son of a bastard forced himself on a POLICE OFFICER! the art to me felt moody in a sensual way rather than showing it as a crime is taking place
Long story short, It's a great story and you may find it thrilling to read, but it's not for me and I didnt find it enjoyable to read. Take caution if you are curious as this story does have distressing elements or better yet, skip it and save yourself the trouble of spiking your cortisol
