I honestly dont hate any of the children even the twins. i find it unfair to paint them as villains while sympathising with thalia when all of them are victims and the by-product of their parents' wrongdoings. their resentment towards thalia is due to her being the daughter of the mistress who came along and destroyed every single presence of the former empress as soon as she passed away. similar to how thalia also resent her younger brother for being favoured by the emperor and the empress. they are all each other's misery. they are all flawed. even varkas is flawed and fallen victim to the former empress. i understand why some readers hate the characters here because honestly they are all miserable. but we cant expect kindness to emerge when all of them grew up knowing only betrayal, hatred, and suffering
