I find it laughable how navier's defenders defend her being ignorant and pro-slavery by saying she grew up in a world where slavery is a norm. by that logic, then rashta shouldnt be hated on for being a mistress when mistresses and concubines are aslo a norm back then. Navier is a classist and a hypocrite which reflects the author's mindset. She belittle Rashta for being stupid and uneducated. She views a young former slave to be manipulative and cunning, yet falls far a war criminal like heinrey.
Rashta haters would always blame her for being too greedy of power yet the same can be said about Heinrey. They would always bring up the fact that Rashta cut off a maid's tongue but somehow all the atrocities that Heinrey did like killing innocent children, scheming to colonise another empire and planning to ruin Navier's reputation are somehow forgotten.
This story is so problematic that it makes me wonder what went on inside the author's head when they wrote this misogynistic classist shit.
