You and me both. I'm kind glad that one of my cousins on my dad's side ran away for 4 years because of how similarly they treated their kids like Jaemin.
It was even worse for the girls. We weren't allowed to leave the house while the boys could. Since she came back they learned to give us as much independence and freedom as their sons (as long as we had good grades :x). They're obviously still strict in a sense but not to the point that we want to run away from home anymore
As asian, im quite glad that my parents arent extreme like that, though i have a fare share of beatings. Curfew for girls is horrible, my classmates would call me Cinderella cause i cant spend overnight and my fathers car would be waiting outside the campus. They dont force me to be at the top but i personally have to keep within top20 rank just not to disappoint them. Part time work isnt allowed unlike my brothers. Im just glad they stopped once I graduated college and have my own job.
As a typical asian… i am scared what the parents would do… bcz mine would have dug a grave for me already if i pull this stunt…
