Choosing the Just Trust Jakpil route b4 i go insane

As much as i am skeptical about how unchanged man is supposed to end well—and i'm mostly concerned about quality here, no doubt it'll be tragic in terms of text—in about 4 chapters, and as much as i think this auraful dohun is getting somewhat repetitive, there are so many things about the recent "reveals" that i love that put me at ease. Jakpil will stick the landing. She will!

I cannot stress how befitting it is of dohun to obsessively watch seongmin through the camera set up to find the perfect moment to catch seongmin off-guard (to exercise certain degrees of pressure on the leash dohun thinks he has on the whole "seongmin will be my means to keep yuwon happy" thing) that the concept of using it to keep yuwon /safe/ completely evades him until seongmin mentions it. He seems to have actually believed yuwon when he told him he was no longer being picked on at work, which is hilarious irony. Everything dohun does, he chalks up to doing it to make yuwon happy, but he misses the fire for smoke—he wants yuwon happy because he thinks it will make him happy.

It must be considered that even if we spend more time in dohun's mindscape to flesh out his character, there is a distinct lack of yuwon in season 3. I think it's more intentional than just saying we already saw these interactions in seasons 1 and 2. Dohun has become trapped in a feedback loop that hasn't left high school: escape circumstance, satisfy yuwon, find gratification in satisfying yuwon, live. The bloodied corpse of his childhood spent in a basement clings to his frame, and his perception of who yuwon was and what he represented are the only things that sustained him. Dohun might love yuwon, sure, might seek to control him, to wring from him a facsimile of what they felt in high school, but he's not considerate of yuwon. Truly, the most Unchanged Man of them all. Seongmin, loath as i am to admit it, clocked.

My heart breaks for both of them. And, despite all of this, I'm still worried about the ending lol.
