Just found this series and I read it in one go, kinda regretting it now cause I have to wait ;_;
The plot (settings) is well constructed and main characters are interesting. Really glad that the author wrote about their personal desires instead of focusing entirely on romance. One of my fav aspects is that Wolfgang and Shin's relationship is written with consent, they feel like characters with complex personalities who genuinely like each other and not just tropes for the sake of BL. That's why it's so fucking hot whem they finally kissed (and more;)), slow burn is the best.
I'm currently writing for my comic, so I'd like to hear some opinions about what I thought. Well, King's Maker is in my top 10 plot driven BLs, however I suspect that the pacing of story arcs is moving too quick at times. Beginning at Wolfgang''s meeting with his brothers till now? I feel like the full potentials of many side characters (e.g. othere 3 siblings) aren't being taken care of and the arcs (every major events like the meetings, shin being punished, timejump, Death of Dandelion) move in a quick pace that it's hard to follow. E.g. the king, this universally hated pedo psycho that looks like a rotten banana, could be more dimensional, maybe? I mean not just "he's evil because he is", but by adding something moral elements in grey areas to his behaviors, whether it's negative or positive, it can make the fall of his empire more enjoyable. Already smell the sweet sweet karma which seems to be coming soon. This is just my opinions and I'm by no means disrespecting the authors. It all comes down to individual preferences. What do you think about this mahwa? It would be nice for someone to enlightens me.
