I started reading this manga on the same day I started reading Yoneda sensei's Saezuru Tori. From the 1st moment I read this manga, I really thought "germaphobe? what a hard topic for a yaoi!". I keep reading till the end for two reason: 1. Curious as to how Shirotani's illness can be cured 2. Having a bit faith on Takarai sensei.
Yet, I failed to get what I was looking for. Everything seems unfinished.
Shirotani's illness is not really cured. Yes, 100% is quite impossible, but at least, I really wish for Shirotani to have close friend(s) other than Kurose, which he could share things, let him into his room etc, just like how he opened up to Kurose (just not romantically). Although he drank from the restaurant's cup in the latest chapter, it still somehow felt unfinished since he was out with Kurose. It seems for me that he let his guard down only when he is with Kurose,not really with everyone.
As for Kurose, I understand that sensei is trying to show that Kurose have moved on from his past by quitting being a psychologist, a job which he started out of his guilty towards the writer. However,tbh we still get the feeling of "Kurose is still not over the writer yet" simply because we cannot feel a completely deep emotional connection & love between Kurose & Shirotani, which I wish sensei could explore a bit more rather than to give us hot and steamy scenes between them.(I appreciate those scenes tho..haha)
For this manga, all I can say is, a nice try but sensei really lost her touch & directions towards the end. This manga was really a boom in Japan also you know. You can see the comic and big posters everywhere in Japan bookstore. But for the poor progress lately, even the Japanese left bitter comments about the manga in the websites (amazon etc). Such a pity. Maybe sensei could pick a simpler topic for her next project and develop it prettily. Ganbatte, Takarai sensei!
And now, I'm starting to worried about how Saezuru's gonna end. Unlike Ten Count's couple, I can feel a deep emotional connection between Yashiro & Doumeki. But the storyline is sooo heavy that even I can't predict how Yoneda sensei's gonna end this one. Let's pray the best for Saezuru's couple(づ￣ ³￣)づ
