Heartbreaking yet realistic?

I had a feeling that something was off with Tomo. She had this aura of depression? problems? around her. I had a bad feeling but.. I didnt think it actually would end like this.. Really sad.

I wish they would end up together. However, in some sense this manga is quite realistic? Most couples in yuri mangas get together right after confession. Even without knowing if the other party is gay or not. Not very realistic really. Life isnt that easy, nor that smooth. This manga is like a slap in the face from reality.

I am gay myself.
Life is hard at times.
