I think I kind of understand what's going on. Mono thinks everything has already been predetermined, therefore there are no things such as happiness and sadness. He doesn't believe he'll be happy with anyone, and that's why he pushes everyone away. I think he still loves Barron, terribly so (and it's the same for Barron), but he doesn't want him close to him. Notice how Barron slapped him after saying this. Nonetheless he respected his choice.
It's not over yet. The problems here are not Barron or Lego, but Mono and the way he deals with feelings and relationships. He's selfish, in a certain sense. He doesn't want people to get too close to him, because they are 'too much of a burden'. He's happy to help others as long as these people don't get too attached to him. If they do, he'll run away (he did it with both Barron and Lego). The point now is to see who'll make him change his mind. I really hope Barron will go for it. I can't see Lego with Mono.
I can't see them together too because Lego doesn't stand up as a character for me. Baron is his childhood friend, his first love, Mananan's father and one of the most powerful archangel? He has so much potential as Mono's partner compared to Lego.
But like I told you in other comments I don't really think Lego is just a filler. And it seems like Baron has already given up because after Mono kissed him and told him to stay away he punched him and let him alone (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
I don't see how Lego would change Mono tho. He isn't someone very important or relevant in his life but maybe that could actually help.
Lowkey want Mono to just stay alone but I also want him to be happy ┗( T﹏T )┛
Yes, fight my little one! Fight for yo man!
True. But Barron would be very much a waste as a filler as well. I don't think he's given up. He just respected Mono's wish, as an adult would (minus the punch bit). Moreover, we still don't know what exactly happened between them. Who knows, maybe Barron will lowkey help him have back his memories. I have to say that it really broke my heart seeing Mono like this. He's in that situation, because he's too attached to his memories (specifically those he has with Barron), and this won't change easily. Goo for it, Barron, no matter what Mono says.
I second your thought! Can't see Lego and Mono happening.
Same here. Baron has so much potential as Mono's partner compared to Lego and I think they have so much story that we still need to know. But we can't dismiss that many things have already happened/progress between Mono and Lego (more to Lego's part/feelings) and Baron just recently came in the scene. Lego can be a sweetheart with his reactions to Mono.
But Mono's monologue when Baron came was:
"The old me believed everything would naturally go the way I desired. I believed that when I wanted something it would be mine."
And like Monday, he has a story monologue:
"Angels are born to love God. And so, if they cannot find another to love they instinctively find a way to devote themselves to God. Ultimately they are tools of God and their emotions are merely a borrowed concept. Which means they must return it once they've given a task. And just when I was wondering what there is to love I met you."
Another monologue of his:
"Friends? even if we pretend that's true for me, there's no way it is for you. Or rather it shouldn't be. Then again, when I think about it, it was enough time for both of us to change. We're just going to split up again anyway."
I'm so curious what went down on their relationship? Is it like duty vs love? That's why in his monologue he says that love is a borrowed concept and when given a task they must return it? Is there a forbidden love between archangels or something? Is it Mono who stopped the relationship first?
and with svetlanafan summary for Chapter 45 (seen below), it looks like Mono and Baron are still in love with each other and Baron is the reason why Mono is keeping that child/young form.
But of course, even with all of that, I don't want Lego to end up alone and broken hearted, even though he looks like he could kill he's actually just a cinnamon roll. Ughh My heart is really torn between Baron and Lego. Though I'm much rooting for Baron. maybe because Mono's words hurts so much that I just want him to be happy and have Baron to himself. I'm screaming like what is the f*king reason they can't be with each other? My beloved Mono deserves to be happy T^T
P.S. I'm really curious with the raws for Chapter 46 and 47, why did Mono suddenly came out with his original/adult form? Why did he kiss Baron when all this time it seems like he's holding it in and is practically good at it. Please bless my poor soul with summaries T^T and sorry for the long post, I become so invested with their dramatic and maybe tragic love story.
I love this analysis so much uwu I've been paying attention to the monologues as well lately and when I reread the whole story I realised that when Mananan first appeared, Mono had already said something about getting into a mess with Mananan's dad because of their obsession with marriage and all. I guess it didn't work out because they both had other priorities in life and Baron must have wanted to Mary with Mono but Mono couldn't?
Also what I found particularly amusing was how Mono would always complain about first loves and how it Lowkey annoyed him that everyone first love was working out so well.
Another thing is, It's these small things that Mono says that makes me ship Lego x Mono in the first place.
Like how he said that 'it didn't have to be him' after Lego went to him because of the aphrodisiac and asked him to sleep with him. Or how his monologue said 'they wouldn't see each other' after the office was moving when he met Lego outside of the office.
And lastly, every time after something happens with Baron we see Lego or vice versa, with Mono in the center and I don't think the author is doing that just because. More like a foreshadowing?
Overall the saddest part of it all is how Lego doesn't even try to go for Mono because he assumes that 1. Mono won't love him anyways since he's way out of his league (I mean when he was talking with Rose I kind of figured out that he had many love interests and thus many heartbreaks) and 2. Mono may still be interested in Baron and in no way does he, a demon, stand a chance against an archangel.
Thank you for listening to my TED Talk

I'm not sure, I feel like Mono is interested in Lego but perhaps still not 'in like' with him or maybe he already treasures him in a way (when he said he'll play Lego's guardian angel I was wondering why he cared so much so I thought perhaps he /does/ care) or maybe it's just sexual desire he feels towards him (did we all notice Mono's fixation with Lego's nipples and likes teasing him since he's so sensitive <Lego is baby boy culture>) but I honestly believe that might change. I feel like the author is leaning more towards new beginnings and new chapters, so maybe we'll see Mono finally move on or at least let go so he can open his heart again. What I am very sure of, though, is that Mono /knows/ Lego has a crush on him. Whether he saw it when the mares showed or whether he figured out himself, he knows. I am really curious, if mono and lego do work out, what kind of dynamic that would create. And if not, at least I'll be hoping for a threesome between Mono, Lego and Baron.
I just want my baby Lego to be happy, that's all
I hope he is able to move on too. I think at this point, the memories of him and baron and what they had is just only hurting him. And my Cinaroll Lego I feel like he doesn't think he's good enough for Mono. Like where did your mischevious and rebellious part of your personality go? Snatch yo man son! Tear those walls down and show his old ass a whole new world!
well, we know nothing about Lego parents, he might be Lucifer's son for egz #-.-)

I just read the chapter and these were the highlights for me
1. Mono kisses Baron
2. By the end Lego meets up with Mono and he asks him " good, I wonder what you want to know"
