My guess is that it's some "blind side" that takes on the form of people familiar to you to get close enough to you to attack with your guard down. Would explain how the Morgue member got mauled without firing a single shot. He probably that the monster was his buddy or something. That's what makes the most sense to me. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
