I don't think he did (well in my opinion). From what I saw he only had his walking stick once through the whole thing, he never used it to go out at night or when he ran in to see his mother. And with how it ended with the whole "has your world changed" and he said "No", and that last line that he was "still living in his own world" I feel like he wasn't able to regain his sight. But I could be entirely wrong, its just what I got out of it.
I think he doesn't need his stick much when he was at the hospital since he knows his way around since he was young. Now he would go to the graduation ceremony. He went w/o his stick though that guy was there to accompany him. But I would believe he won't be carelessly going around sort of unfamiliar places w/o his stick. What if he bumps into people on the road going to his school w/o his stick? His walking stick sort of letting people know that he's blind so be excused in case bumping into stuff.
That's how I interpret that in more detailed way hehe.
But honestly I wish the Mangaka would clear things more. Felt as if just rewind forward to much w/o warning. So I just think of that way as to not think to much about it to much :D
@ "Has your world changed" probably means that even if can see or not that it won't make any difference to him, he would just live his life as he always has: w/o the love of his mother that he would never obtain. But he would be together with him.
Thanks for also explaining (゚ヮ゚)
I agree with the whole "I wish the Mangaka would clear things more", It felt like there was a few pages missing or that the translation wasn't fully there. But it could also be the fact that even though it was a sweet story it was too rushed and nothing got really explained.
So was he cured or not? The ending gave me a vague answer
