I don't know but I believe that the phrases below have the opposite effect that the one the person who posted wished to accomplish:

- The classic "If you hate it so much, stop reading it" .
Or even worse: "If you hate it so much, stop reading a let other enjoy it".

Has this ever, ever made anyone actually stop criticizing or doing whatever they were doing after someone barged in the topic session demanding that others shut up with their opinions?
Or, is it possible that this only adds motivation to them? After all, nobody likes a bossy poster who tells them their opinions are shit and they should stop talking.

Think about it. People hate-watching or hate-reading a show or story is common psychology, especially if they followed and invested emotionally on it. So it's not really that simple or even expected that people just drop it. And sometimes 'hating', mocking and bashing is the only think left to clean the system out of the frustration. So to 'order' people to drop the story for your sake is pointless. And even more useless is to tell them they need to do it because of your personal enjoyment of the story is affected.
What brings the other weird point. Nobody is preventing you from enjoy the story. If you let other people's opinion dictate how much you enjoy it, then it's really your problem. It's not their job to make you feel good about reading a story. If you give this kind of power to people, they are going to use it. Nobody likes to hear bad things about stuff we like but to say 'let others enjoy it' goes a step further and actually tells them they are the ones controlling if you enjoy or not something and this sounds weak and insecure.
Last but not least, besides the basic notion that everybody can have an opinion no matter how brutal it sounds to you, there is the stupidity of the request. Comments do not have a sequence or plot and can be easily skipped. However, you can't stop reading them and making yourself upset over it. Nobody is putting a gun over your head to read comments you don't like or 'spoil' your fun. So, do you get how hypocrite, stupid and ironic the phrase 'If you hate it so much, stop reading it' sounds? When you can't even do that with simple comments that you could easily ignore?
I don't mean to offend anyone but I wonder if they notice that this kind of demand has the opposite result because once you say this to people that are already mad at a story, only gives them more incentive to trash it. Now not only they are venting about something but they know that on top of it, they can get back at the bitch who told them to shut up.
You know it or not, you just applied a reverse psychology and got the opposite result from what you aimed with your 'shut up because I don't want to hear you saying things I don't want to read' ( even though nobody is forcing you to read their comments.)

Why? Part of the enjoyment is when the reader gets to understand why characters behave in the manner they do, and how they perceive and justify their actions. Be it with the "killing" and the 'stalking" concerning Sang woo and Bum. Hopefully the next update from the author will delve more into Sang Woo's perspective.

But from Bum's perspective, he does not want to be separated from the only person who he feels "special" to. Bum isn't a well man, neither is Sang woo too, so seeing their perception of events (such as Bum's imaginations, or acting impulsively or obsessionally throughout his life with the justification of "love" creates for an interesting story, if anything. Yes, they are both criminals who harm others and themselves, that's kind of stating the obvious, we should be able to try and understand why they do such things, their background etc, and their own opinion on their behaviour.

I think another bit that comes with this kind of post is when the person also tries to shame the readers by claiming that their criticism is some kind of disrespect for the author.
The authors are not here reading this shit so unless people are going after them on their social accounts, this is all talk among fans.
Plus, disrespect? Excuse me? We are all mooching their work in a pirate site, including the person who vests himself as author's knight. There is no bigger disrespect to the author than you patronizing sites like mangago that publish the pirate version of their work. If you want really prove respect and support for the author, the very first thing you should do is stop reading their work for free and go buy it. Until you do that, please don't come schooling others about respect for an author. They couldn't give a rat ass about comments in a pirate site but I bet they give a lot of offense to any user mooching their work, including the ones who love their stories but not enough to pay for it.

I'm sure many people (myself included) do read the works on the original website when it comes to webtoons, but unfortunately most of those sites do not offer readers a chance to have a conversation about the work, or it is very censored and with no normal and healthy levels of criticism. Well the English original websites with comments available, just seem to be the "must protect my cinamonroll" level, which is pretty cringe worthy.

Sure, everyone is allowed to share their opinion but goddamn if you really don't like reading something and yet continue to do so just to find more things to complain about, you're the one who's annoying.. No one is ordering you to drop it, they are just telling you a logical solution to calm yourself down, just stop reading it and go read something else. So calling the person a "bitch" is really unnecessary. But don't get me wrong, I have criticized multiple manga myself. It's just that I didn't continue further if I really didn't like it. And I agree, telling someone to stop complaining just so others can enjoy the work is retarded. Some people can't take criticism and immediately get offended on the behalf of the author which is pointless unless it's not constructive criticism and like literal threatening or something. Don't get me wrong, I mean no offense by this. Just my opinion on the matter.
