From Chapter 62, it looks like Lucaon's mum was Beth's child. Christoph wasn't related to Ryan by blood/marriage etc. This is just presumptions though, as hasn;t yet been translated,

Lucaon's mom isn't Beth's child. Beth is a half blood. Lucaon os a pure blood that means his parents were pure bloods too. If beth would be her mother, Lu's mother would be a half blood too. Ryan took care of lu's mother, after her family died ( i think they died. There was a man who was dead because of VS and he had the Selvior Symbol.. )

Fair enough, I guess this at least shows that Ryan has always been a part of Lucaon's life, and Lucaon's mum, hence the "old family friend" title. This makes Ryan's life seem even more self sacrificing and sad, as he "adopted" 2 kids in a sense, but obviously raised Sihan as though he was his son, and he also considered Christoph to be his child, but Christoph came into his life when he was in his early 20's so the dynamic is different. He's cared for three people as though he was their parent, and saw them build families of their own, find partners etc but was never really formally a member of them, or recognised as being a father figure.
