Sidis (the Knight) is the kid she saved in the past. The emperor is the person that she /served/ in the past. Go and reread the the first couple pages, it’s pretty obvious that the child she saved isn’t the emperor since both he and Sidis look almost exactly like their younger selves. Not to mention, it’s actually brought up again during the confrontation in the room because she recognizes Sidis as the child that was often the emperors companion back then
She saved the emperor (the dog bark guy) in her past life.
Idk what's up with her and the knight (the one who had a connection with her when they touched) - author hasn't explained it yet
