That's probably because she did something real bad to little Ujou so they send her away to cool down.
*Or she just left willingly to stay as far away from Ujou. If she hated her husband she would stay away more than 12 years. Afterall Ujou right now isn't 12 years old. So she stayed making Ujou life miserable up to the point poor Ujou was afraid of her more than his big sis
I bet the reason why she hates her son so much is because she was probably too pregnant or giving birth to protect her master (chouko’s mom) who then died. So she blames her son for that.
