Honestly. I don’t think it would’ve moved forward without it. It could’ve been shorter cause it’s yaoi. But a lot of the cute moments and meaningful dialogue stem from it happening. It proved that they want to only fuck each other by literal symbolism. Just my op tho.
No not really. Without the threesome, the uke could have said that he doesn't want him to have sex with others, and Kuroo could have said I only have sex with people who look and act like you. Then the meaningful dialogue could have 'stem' from that.
I think seeing it has a bigger impact but that’s just me. It was a good story regardless.
That would not have happened. The only reason things moved forward is because he threw up due to the threesome and was caught. Kuroo only had the courage to force him to admit his feelings due to the terrible position they were in and saw him suffering. Without this, they likely would have danced around each other for who knows how many more years. It isnt the plot device I would have chosen, but it's the direction the author chose to go in and the ending would not have worked by deleting that scene
