If you would really like a nice story, with well written characters and a female main character who doesn't have to suffer (unnecessarily because there's a brainless male lead), I really recommend you read Dengeki Daisy. It's a completely different genre compared to this story (still shoujo), but I assure you it's worth the read and tears.
