I agree with you that it cheapens the story. I’m not sure why the authors uses it so much to peddle her story because these characters had plenty of other angst to deal with. I really like the art though and the framing of the story.

Personally speaking I like this manga and the rape part is for me a kick in the story. Why? Because its a personal preferences and I respect those who doesnt share the same preferences as I do. But i dont appreciate people who take fiction too seriously and hating on a manga that already tagged as rape etc. Especially those who arleady has a disclaimer. This kind of manga is made for those who enjoys rape and obviously not for those who likes vanilla. Not all manga has to suit your taste. Manga like such, is why people like you think it's a okay to glorify rape and treat it as if it's not a traumatizing event that real people go through. Just because it's being used romantically in fiction does not mean that this story is not reflecting a real life setting, and thus engraining in an audience that mostly consists of young impenetrable minors that this behaviour is ok. Rape and "not vanilla" are NOT the same thing, treating it as such is nasty. If you want a risky manga, read one with bdsm where the idea of consent is still involved.

Also the arguement "oH well if you dont like rape then any media with rape is worth being shit on" did you not read what I said?? I said if used in a story as a device and not a romantic gesture it's fine, obviously that means it's fine when used or referenced in non-fictional literature/shows/media etc as well.

Which is true, but saying that does not invalidate someones negative opinion about something. I went into this thinking about the nice art style and unbeknownst stumbled into a gross rape story. Am I not allowed to comment that its gross if it's my opinon? I stopped reading after I realized what the story was, so what is your point?

Of course im gross and disgusting for thinking rape in a fictional that in ANYWAY did NOT portrait realistic view of rape is a good thing :). For me to enjoy a story that I think is according to my taste im even more fucked up. Im a person with common sense, I did not condone rape in a real life situation nor do I want to experience such a thing. Because why? Again, I differentiate real life and virtual as a rational person that I am. Does manga glorify rape? Did people who read manga will turn into rapist? Rape in FICTION is not in anyway trying to portrait a realistic view of rape which is why romantizing rape in manga happens,because it is NOT REAL no matter what the situations is. If it triggers someone's trauma then read the WARNING first or STOP reading. There are many novels and movies that has rape and romantizie it as well. And manga did not teach people that rape is okay or teach audience that such behavior does ot have onsequencs, (irl we are aware of law, realistically rapist are put in jail while in manga they are not)
