HOW HYUNWOO'S AND SUBIN'S TALK SHOULD'VE BEEN
(in Mamboo Bamboo's opinion)
Here's an alternative ending I thought of (just for my peace of mind), I'm just gonna share for those who are interested lol:
***Note to all: At first, I never intended to villanize Hyunwoo (I admit that my judgement wavered, especially during his flashbacks with Subin. We can never deny their history together). I really have tried to rationalize all his questionable acts, but in the end I couldn't stand him***
Continuing from Chapter 43.6, Page 38
Hyunwoo: "I came to say goodbye."
Subin: "...You're talking like you're never gonna see me again."
Hyunwoo stares at Subin for awhile. In silence, they exchanged gazes.
Finally, Hyunwoo changes his focus forward, breaking the gaze.
Hyunwoo: "...That's the idea. Honestly, I'm not okay with this anymore."
Subin: "This? What do you-"
Hyunwoo didn't know what came over him, maybe it was the rush of feelings he felt as he knows they didn't have much time left before his departure. And so, throwing his cig away, now fully facing Subin once more, he places both of his hands atop of Subin's shoulders. Grasping them a tad bit too tightly.
Hyunwoo: "This facade I'm showing you, Subin... That I might be lying to you and myself all along, even to this moment. That I-!"
(That I now realize, I might be in love with you!!!)
...Or so Hyunwoo wished he could've said, only to be reminded of Jun's presence. Jun, still maintaining his call but is now glancing at him, confused by Hyunwoo's sudden outburst.
Hyunwoo, thinking to himself, lets out a bitter chuckle.
Hyunwoo: (Is it even fair for me to say it now? Am I too late...?)
Unconsciously, Hyunwoo tightened his grip even more.
Subin: "...Hyunwoo, let go. It's starting to hurt."
Hyunwoo: "! Y-yeah, sorry about that..."
Hyunwoo quickly released his grasp from Subin and awkwardly faces away from him.
Subin lets out a sigh, he had a hunch about what Hyunwoo was about to say, he wasn't stupid.
As awkward silence surrounds them for the duration of minutes.
Determined, Subin started speaking as if he was talking to himself. Analyzing and sorting his thoughts as he spoke the words that has been weighing his mind for awhile now.
Subin: "...I once had a friend. His name was Hyunwoo."
Hyunwoo was a bit confused as to why Subin is addressing him as a third person, even though his name was mentioned. But he continued to listen quietly eitherway.
Subin: "We had a rocky start, I admit that I didn't like him at first."
"My first impression of him was that he was a standoffish guy who thought that he was better than the people around him. Maybe because he's been on the TV before, well, who knows? It also didn't help that he was handsome too, girls fawned all over him."
Hyunwoo scoffed at that, but didn't interrupt.
Subin: "Then I noticed that this cold guy actually had his own set of passion, he likes- No. He loves music. He loves composing them. Whenever he was talking about music, it seemed like he was glowing. Back then, I thought, he truly looked the most handsome that way."
Subin said, reminiscing their shared memories together while Hyunwoo blushed because of this confession of his.
Subin, knowing that he had to approach the main topic that's been haunting them, started to waver whether or not he should. But determined once again, he braved through his concerns and spoke the words he has been hiding this whole time. He knew they needed this talk, they needed... closure.
Subin: "...I confess, I didn't know when it happened. My admiration grew for him, spending time with him was fun, it was as if we were inseparable. We then rented a studio apartment together, doing chores together, cooking for one another..."
"But admiration slowly turned to like, and like slowly turned to-- "
Subin choked on his words and gathered his courage once more.
Subin: "Slowly turned to love."
Silence starts enveloping them once more, as the words sunked in.
Of course Hyunwoo already knew this by now, Subin was always open about how he felt, it would've been dumb to even doubt that at this point.
Subin: "...Did you know, Hyunwoo? I don't even like drinking. I only drink to get liquor courage cause I was scared."
Subin now addressed Hyunwoo as second person. Hyunwoo still remained silence, he didn't want to interrupt Subin just yet. Though, of course he already knew Subin didn't like drinking because of Dongjun.
Subin: "You might think it was cowardice of me to confess while drunk. I could've blamed it on the alcohol if things went sour, but at that time I couldn't help myself anymore. I couldn't keep those feelings bottled in any longer. I loved you."
Hyunwoo: "..."
(Loved.)
Subin: "But then you rejected me time and time again, I think it wouldn't be exaggerating if I said you were annoyed by my persistence, weren't you? I was selfish, I never thought of thinking about your feeling but focused on mine first. I was wallowing in self pity, saying things like 'I love you, Hyunwoo! I love you! Why don't you love me?!' when you weren't even sure of yourself yet. It was childish of me, and I realized that now."
"I loved you, but-"
Hyunwoo: "...You love 'him' more..."
Hyunwoo said, finally looking at Subin, who is now gazing at Jun.
Subin: "...Yeah."
Subin says while smiling warmly at Jun, who is still talking on the phone.
Subin: "I love him."
Hyunwoo: "...Are you happy?"
Subin was taken aback by Hyunwoo's question.
Subin: " I'm sorry, what?"
Hyunwoo: "With him, are you happy?"
Subin: "..."
Subin stared at Hyunwoo as if the question was the weirdest thing he has ever heard in his entire life.
Subin: "I can confidently say, that as of now, I am the happiest man that I'll ever be. With Jun."
Subin said as if it was final. Hyunwoo wasn't surprised at all, he knew. He just needed it to be said by Subin himself. As the words was said, he felt a bit lighter for some reason.
Hyunwoo: "...That's all then, I'm glad we had this talk."
Subin: " Me too, I think we needed this."
Suddenly, Hyunwoo's phone started ringing. The caller ID was of Min Ji Hun's.
Hyunwoo: "Well, I should head to the airport now, Jihun's waiting for me."
Subin: "What, now??"
Hyunwoo: "Yeah, I bet he's mad at me. I practically left him with my suitcase and all that."
Subin: "Should I come with you (Mamboo Bamboo: to the airport lol not LA, you wish)?"
Hyunwoo: "...Nah, I think it's best if you don't."
Subin: "Eh?? Why?!"
Hyunwoo: "It's for the better."
As Hyunwoo started heading towards the door, Subin tugs the edge of his coat.
Subin: "Is this really the end?"
Hyunwoo: "..."
"For now, yeah. Until I can sort my feelings out for good, please understand. I would never want my feelings to get in the way of your happiness. As long as you're happy, then... I'm happy."
Subin: "...I hope you'll find your own happiness too, Hyunwoo."
Subin said as he released his hold of Hyunwoo's coat.
Subin: "Oh, and, Hyunwoo-"
Hyunwoo: "Yeah?"
Subin: "I don't regret anything that has happened between us, but..."
Subin looks Hyunwoo in the eyes as he continues.
Subin: "...I do regret our broken friendship. So, when you're ready, know that I'll always be here for you. You are like family to me."
Subin finally says with tears in his eyes.
Flabbergasted, Hyunwoo quickly turns around. Tears threatening to flow, but he refuse to let Subin see him crying. He could only nod his head, worried if he said anything, his voice would crack.
He finally went down the stairs and left.
And he was gone.
******
Subin: "...You can come out now."
Upon Subin's beckoning, Jun started walking towards him.
Jun: "Er, sorry, the call ended but I didn't want to interrupt."
Subin: "It's okay, it's nothing that I wouldn't tell you anyway."
Now face to face with Subin, Jun gazed lovingly at Subin.
Jun: "...Subin."
Subin: "Hm?"
Jun then hugged Subin, wrapping him tightly in his tender arms.
Jun: "I love you."
Subin: "! Ah, what the?! So sudden!"
Subin playfully punches Jun as he blushes in Jun's hold.
Jun: "I really, really, really love you..."
Subin had struggled in Jun's hold, but gave up. In submission, he returned Jun's hug and said.
Subin: "Yeah, I love you too."
-The End.
Regarding what happens to Hyunwoo in LA, I'll let you interpert it yourself (one, because I'm lazy. Two, because I don't really care eitherway for him lol).
If you read until here, kudos for you~

(HAS SPOILERS AND USE OF PROFANITY)
Read if you wanna, just my personal opinions.
I needed to get this outta my chest lol.
Agree to disgree I guess, your choice:
I will forever hate Hyunwoo.
From the beginning (even until the end), he was nothing but an asshole to Subin. Calling him gross, giving him false hope, upon returning even went as far as trying to penetrate him (when he wasn't sure that he liked Shubin in "that way" yet, tf? Temptation? I think the fuck NOT! Sounds like an excuse to me), being wishy washy through out all the chapters, he was the one that drew the line in the 1st place goddamnit. And now you want me to symphatize with the asshole? Oh HECK to the NO.
So wut? Just cause your Noona doesn't like you and since there's an, oh so convenient loving "friend" around to pamper to all your needs, you think you can just waltz around as if you in the right?!
Get the fuck outta here! Too late for that bitch.
Don't get me wrong, Subin also has his flaws. Tons if I want to be honest. He's selfish, doesn't think about others around him, forces his wants upon others, a whiny pychotic big baby, and just won't give it a rest while being an ass about it too!
He is also a wishy washy fuck tard floating in the toilet piece of shit kind of guy, but-
What differentiates him from Hyunwoo, at least in the end, he tried to move on. He tried to forget. He tried to give his new lover (Jun Hyung) a chance. Which is a lot coming from that bitchy baby with his 5 year long one sided love.
We all knew he could've just been a total ass and left the lovable Hyung aside like the ass I thought he was, but no, he had his doubts, worries, he kept making excuses upon excuses. Though in the end, he always came back, he kept to his word.
When Hyunwoo kissed him, he didn't indulge. He could've, but he didn't. He knows that it wouldn't have been fair for Jun.
This was when I started seeing him in a new light, that baby Subin.
His character shows signs of development, HE WAS THE ONE WHO DREW THE FINAL LINE HUZZAHHH!
***I WAS SCREECHING AT THE PART WHEN HE (Subin) COLLECTED HIS FINAL THINGS THAT HYUNWOO WOULD BE FAST ENOUGH TO REACH HIM LOL, I WAS LIKE "BISHHH YOU BETTA RUN AND GET YO ASS OUTTA THERE BEFORE THAT BAGGAGE STARTS DRAGGING YOU BACK WITH HIM!!!" LOL, back to my point***
...But then what do we have here...?
Disgusting asshole, pityful shit excuse of a man, Hyunwoo, brooding that he regrets everything? That he might like him in the end? Pshhh, yeah right asshat. I prayed to all the Lords above you will NEVER get with Subin, and thank the Lords you're all the way in the US now haha~
I seriously thought he would've at least let Subin go during the housewarming party, to close "that" chapter ONCE AND FOR ALL, yet-
I guess I was hoping too much from a sore loser like Hyunwoo, he just had to do that.
How did you guys think Jun was feeling there, eh?
He was welcoming to Subin friends, he tried to accept the fact that Hyunwoo is an importan part of Subin's life and he could never change that, gave them a chance to "talk it out" (probably the last talk they'd ever have for the longest of times), but that motherfucker Hyunwoo just couldn't help himself.
He just had to try and kiss him, you shitty shitty character of a man.
That was literally the last straw for me, I didn't have the heart to rationalize with Hyunwoo anymore because clearly he's very selfish at that moment.
What was he even tryna do? He was leaving for LA, tickets and baggage all in check, and ready for flight! GET YOUR FUCKIN PRIORITIES IN CHECK MAN.
I always felt so bad for Jun, he's so precious yo, ya'll don't even got a clue. I'm so happy he, at least, got his well deserved happy ending.
Thus,
Let Jun Hyung's words haunt you until you die, you demon entity Hyunwoo
"Nam Hyun Woo...
Don't ever...
...Come back here."
Muahahahaha~ ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
P.S:
Great Manhwa though, very satisfactory ending.
10/10 would read again.
