Did Angela marry Raymond and have his kids or were those kids Euan's? Was Ray single all those years? His parents didn't force him to marry?
I'm 100% sure the father of her childrenis someone other than Raymond and Euan as after Euans death she probably got another fiance. Yeah, Ray was single all these years as his dad basically lives in a time of pre-euan death and his mum is dead so there was no one to force him to get married. Also during that time period men can get away with getting married when they're older unlike women.
I'd also imagine if one of her kids father was Euan (she has 2 kids) the child would be groomed as a successor for Euans families company as in the ending it was noted that Raymond had no talent for it and is only doing it cause he's the only successor left. The thought never even occurred to me that Euan could potentially be the childs father as I'm pretty sure Euan and Raymonds dad would've not fallen into such delusion knowing that he was going to have a grandchild and it would've been harder for Angela to marry because the child would've been born out of wedlock.
I didn't even realise there was so many things that wouldn't have added up if Euan was the childs father lol just read it more carefully cause there is subtle clues against it.

Yes definitely, the first time I read it I felt betrayed cuz I thought Ray married Angela and had kids with her but then when he found Jeremy again he basically abandoned that family. So I thought he was a selfish guy who left his kids for his first love. Thank god I read it again years later, it makes sense now but u can't blame me he seemed close to Angela and she talked to him about a lot of things that you'd think a wife would ask her husband about.
Ngl I hate that Angela lived a happy life despite inadvertently ruining 3. Also Euans death still hurts so much, just the fact that he died on some random street all alone is saddening (this is like my 5th time rereading but it never fails to fuck me up)
