What I hate with so many yaois is that they romanticise rape and whoring. What a lot of mangagakas need to realise is that most of the time rape victims hate it and it's actually a crime. "I like these stories!! It just shows you how people can fall in love with their rapist!!" What the actual fuck, reading these comments pisses me off. I really love reading yaoi and when I first start one I can't stop it even if I hate it over all on earth, because I still think there is some hope that it will end in a good way. What we need isn't more rape or whoring yaoi, but we need more more yaoi that are about healthy relationships, if one of the characters do get raped they don't fall in love with the rapist, that's just wrong. So, I'm sorry if this hurt anyone of your feelings, but open your eyes, gods damned it. Rape and whoring should not be romanticised, it should be banned.

If I wrote how I normally do then the whole thing would be extremely much longer and filled with swearing, oh gods, but anyways, don't fucking romanticise rape and whoring because it's fucking stupid.

ikR this is legit one of the things i fucking hate about most yaoi because most are basically saying 'rape is good and even if you reject the person who is trying to rape you, even telling them to stop, then everything.will still be okay and youll both love each other for like ever because love is tsuyoii as fuck when you rape someone' and most of the time.i just get disgusted as fuck by it and then ill see the comments that will say things like 'omg that was so fucking cute' or 'that was so smexy' and even 'rape is so fucking hot' and im just like ????? whaT THE FUCK ?????? WHAT IS WONG WITH YALL ????????????

    I see you're point. January 28, 2015 1:08 am

I get that what your saying it is true most rape victims don't fall in love with their captures or anything of the sort, but you have to remember this is a book if it ends the way a regular relationship does without a happy ending then it most likely wont get bought. And if you don't like romantacized rape just look in the summary or even look at the genre, normally its a dead give away when they will use rape to start a relationship and then chose not to read it. Agian I get what you're saying but I don't think there is a need to say not to write books like this because there are some people out there who like it. Sorry if you don't agree just my opinion.

It's been so "normal" for yaoi to have these kinds of themes and I can take a certain degree of it.

It's just a book but if people keep in mind that "omg rape is so hot" then that's what is really worrying.

I never read a rape yaoi twice, nor do I ever spend $$ on them. I DO buy as many Yaois as I can when they're published in English that DON'T have that theme, and I hope over time if enough of us do this maybe the tides will change and they'll quit making so many Yaois start off with rape rather than consensual sex...

i completely agree with you. honestly when I see people in the comments going “omg so cute! ヾ(☆▽☆)” it really annoys me cause after reading so many yaois where the uke falls in love with the seme after getting raped, these readers start to think these are normal and they’re not. being gay and having sex doesn’t have to be really outlandish and needs rape and forcefulness to make it cute. people above saying “its just a book” what do you mean its just a book. Books and movies all influence us without our knowledge even though we know its not real. Just because its a book doesn’t mean we should condone rape. they’re are still young people reading yaois and think its ok for rape and force and manipulation to happen and that its “cute”. I wish more mangakas showed realistic and healthy relationships. Most of the time they’re not like that though. its kind of hard to look for ones that are. consensual sex and mututal love are kind of hard to find in yaois. I usually stick to shounen ai anyway

I can understand you but in my opinion it's much better if the raipist and the victim fell 4 each other if ever instead of carrying hatredsaying forever. Besides the seme has a reason. It's much better than only doing it 4 fun.

Many of the rape victims usually suicide and thats bcuz of depression and anger. If that hatred turned to love then it's much better. Loving your enemy symbolizes forgiveness. Just saying ( ̄∇ ̄")

I am ok with reading about rape. It is something that happens in society and can change the victim of the story dramatically. What I do not like is that although the rape (in this case) is acknowledged as rape, it all ends in a kind of "love heals all" / "love excuses all" scenario. This is a blatant lie. Love does not heal our trauma or resentment, though in the short term it may seem that way.

I am not against romance between a victim and a rapist, but maybe the author should have asked themselves and the reader, whether such a relationship is healthy and/or whether someone who does not respect the object of their "affection" and hurts them just so they can fuck is really as ideal and loving a partner as the victim may deserve.

Personally I think that would have made a very deep, emotional and maybe even a more thought provocative storyline.

    Things like:

    What makes an ideal lover.

    Whether forgiveness comes with forgetting.

How rape changes both the victim and the rapist.

    etc.

I do on no account condone rape but personally I really enjoy the darker more serious side of fiction.
I think it is interesting in how it changes people (however terrible it is). The thing I dislike about some stories is that the rape is not acknowledged as rape or is used to express someone's unconditional, powerful love to their victim. Love is not the same as lust, neither should rape be an expression of love. People that do not realise this and commit these crimes are not healthy. This unhealthiness is nearly never addressed in yaoi.

Fictional rape can be hot. But it should still be addressed as rape, not accepted as an expression of love.

The thing is, in real life, it's possible to get raped by someone you love. Often times, the victim really struggles with this inner conflict and some choose to forgive.

hi, i agree with your opinions, but please are you familiar with feminism and yaoi? this themes here are not real, you know that right? first anal sex without preparation, lube and fingering is impossible, all that femme pretty boys are not in your regular gay porn (they have hairy legs and stuff :D) and all that shit about "im not gay but for you i iz!" is making me twitch inside.
so this is some sort of porn. its also some sort of healing for victims. for me who was sexually assaulted couple of times (including rape) is kind of beneficial.
and for me, who is identifies as lesbian, seeing happy end in gay couple is great and so needed cuz i got issues on lots of things such as anxiety like society want to tell me i can never be happy in queer relationship.
tl;dr - rape is bad irl lot of us suffer. but yaoi is porn nothing here is real just fantasy

Sigh... at all the comments, people you do realize that yaoi and all of the other genres in manga are nothing but FANTASY and that's why anything and everything is allowed, so why get so worked up fighting against it. FANTASY gives us a way to read and see themes that are banned, wrong, immoral and criminal in a society (rape, incest, homosexuality, lesbianism, pedophilia, bestiality among others). REALITY is one thing and fantasy is another, sure literature (as in medicine and/or therapy magazines, newspapers and journals) referring to rape (or any other criminal theme) its going to treat it in a serious way and as crime and a life changing event, and that's the kind of books you should be reading if you don't want rape to be romanticize. Plus in real life people who do commit a crime and its caught is going to be punished according to the laws established on the country...

not fantasy, it's fiction. fyi fiction usually is inspired by real life. in japan rape victims aren't taken seriously in their legal system. it was legal to have pedophilia material until 2014, and still manga got a free pass. women in japan still has no rights and the lbgt community either. the excuse that this is fiction comes from people totally unaware of the real dangers behind it, usually minors, and/or clueless adults. I used to deal with human rights orgs including human traffik, child porn, etc, and I know very well what I'm talking about. the biggest problem with romanticize that crap, apart from spitting in the face of victims, is that it teaches people that it's right. specially idiotic kids, aka people of 19 and under. sadly due to the bad parenting of parents today many, or most of yaoi readers are kids under 18 yo who has no clue about life and can serve as a grooming tool for future victims and seriously shame on you for comparing natural sexual orientations aka homosexuality/lesbianism, with sickening crimes and sick philias aka rape, pedophilia.
