I don't really get the motivation behind Asahina's dad's actions. What was the reason behind abandoning his son for 8 straight years without contacting or letting him know. Asahina was longing for his father's affection, no matter what, he wanted him to return, even in some way or the other he did hold a 'grudge', it still wasn't as deep as his desire for his father to come back, i guess that's why he forgave him so easily.
Nevertheless, I like stories that has this soft and tranquil vibe, contrary to the popular believe that it was 'boring' or 'dull', I found it tugging at my heart strings.
